Age and exposure to diesel fuel, coupled with the force of sloshing fuel in the tank, has broken off many fuel tank pickup screens. The result will be a truck that "runs out of fuel and shuts down" when there is still up to 1/4 tank of fuel remaining. If you are having this problem, there is a very good chance that your stock pickup screen assembly is broken off.
