Description HOW TO ERECT PLASTIC MESH DEER FENCING This fence is usually supported by 2.4m machine rounded 60mm treated posts at 2.5m centres, and secured by way of battens. The fence is lifted off the ground by approximately 100 – 125mm and a strand of barbed wire run along the bottom and clipped to the fence. This will allow the rabbits to go under the fence and will reduce the possibility of rabbits biting through the mesh. The barbed wire will help prevent deer pushing underneath. Please note: It is advisable not to use staples to fix the Plastic Mesh Deer Fencing to the posts, as the metal staples can wear through the plastic mesh. Battens should be used to fix the mesh to the posts. To purchase stakes and battens, please see our Stake Section. PLEASE NOTE:- Although Plastic Mesh Deer Fence has been sold successfully for many years, with very few complaints, it should be considered as a low cost, and easy to use alternative to galvanised wire deer fencing. If deer are determined to gain access, they may be able to tear the mesh and/or use holes made by rabbits or hares at ground level. If the area to be protected is large and deer, rabbit or hares are numerous, galvanised wire deer fencing should be used. We accept no liability for plastic mesh deer fencing failing in such circumstances as described above. We can also supply gamekeeping protection net for pens, similar to the low-vis deer fence. Please ask for a quote to suit your purpose. We are also stockists of Tornado galvanised deer fencing. Please contact us for more details but bear in mind, galvanised deer fencing is harder to erect than our plastic fencing.
